Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PC) - The Force has returned.

A long time ago in a galaxy far,

far away...

Ten year old me watched Episode IV: A New Hope for the first time, and I have been in love with the series since. Watching and re-watching the movies, and playing every star wars related video-game I could get my hands on. I look back at every game I played with such nostalgia, especially Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. I have fond memories playing it with my brother back on the PS2, and the multiple attempts it took to beat Count Dooku. And if I’m being honest, some of the newer games, while good, just weren’t for me. And when they announced Jedi: Fallen Order, I couldn’t help but be a little pessimistic.

And how wrong I was. This game is absolutely brilliant. It was everything I wanted in a star wars game, and I could finally feel like a Jedi again.

And without further ado, let’s dive into it.

Set between the events of episodes III and IV, you play as Cal Kestis a Jedi padawan who survived Order 66 and is in hiding. Circumstances lead to your identity being revealed which sets you off on the adventure of a lifetime.

I gotta say, in terms of its plot, playing this game really felt like watching a Star Wars movie.

Playing this game and progressing through the story really just hit me with nostalgia, even though it is a completely new storyline with new characters. It has the very essence of what made me love Star Wars in the first place. I don’t want to get too much into the plot as I don’t want to spoil anything. But I will say this, if you love star wars, trust me this game is for you.

Fight System:

This game has been compared a lot to Sekiro and other souls-like games, which it kinda is combat-wise. It is definitely not your run on the mill hack and slash where you can get through everything by mashing the attack button, you gotta plan your attacks, and work on dodging and parrying, but fear not the difficulty of this game is adjustable.

The combat is smooth and slashing through enemies with your lightsaber is just so damn satisfying. but what really takes the cake is using the force to chuck enemies off cliffs. It is hilarious and never gets old.

Exploration and Roaming:

Keep in mind that swinging your light-saber isn’t the only thing there is to this game. Platforming and exploring also play a major role in this game.

Its kind of a Metroid-Vania style game where you can travel to different planets and revisit them as the story progresses.

Exploration rewards you with lore about the planet you’re in, different outfits for your character, different light-saber parts to customize it’s appearance and even the colour of your ship. And if you're the type of person who just HAS to collect them all, this game is gonna keep you occupied for a while.

  • Well thought out plotline which weaves itself into the cannon

  • Satisfying combat gameplay

  • Gorgeous visuals

  • Immersive world
