Moto GP 20 (PC) - One of the hardest racing games I've ever played!

Two wheeler racing games sounded really fun so i took went ahead and took a crack at Moto GP 20. To be honest, the game is brutally difficult and every corner but seems like it can be mastered in the long run. But my initial runs ended up with me crashing Valentino Rossi into the tyre walls of the track. Let's take a look at this racing title.

It is truly one of the more difficult racing games out there due to the sense of realism it brings to the table. Anyone can punch the accelerator and zoom to 200 mph on a straight stretch but when it comes to cornering it requires a sense of braking and accelerating spontaneously to conquer the corners of the track. I also felt that taking a prior look at the map every few seconds is compulsory to time your braking and accelerating. The bikes feel very punchy while accelerating and the stretches are something you should use to slam the accelerator and gain in on your opponents.

Notice how easy it is lose control of the bike as enter the corners in the speed that you've achieved down the stretch. This is where i found myself losing control ever so easily and poor In-game Rossi had to pay the price by crashing and rolling on the track. But i feel with a bit more practice it will become easier to play this game with ease. Maybe one day, I will be able to do justice to in-game Valentino Rossi. The in game realism feels ecstatic almost as if you're driving as Rossi himself.

This is a pre-game sequence where Rossi is strapping on his helmet and getting ready to get on the track. These sequences are very well made visuals and felt good so far. The sense of ragdoll-ism came about when the character's face and their facial movements were revealed. It felt rather poorly animated and was their speech did not match the movements with their mouth. But the in game animations were all spot and i could not spot any flaws while the game was being played. Only during these cut scenes is where i could notice some of these behavioral flaws.

Here we see Rossi tuning and making some final changes to his bike before mounting it. These scenes felt so good to watch as it provided that sense of realism I was talking about earlier! That could be because here there isnt much skin and body movements to point out the rag-doll feel. You can also notice the heat coming out his bike's exhaust system. The level of detail to most of the objects are spot on!

VERDICT

  • One of the hardest racing games i've ever played!

  • It will take time, but once you practice those corners you should be good to go.

  • Great graphics apart from the human models which we feel needs more work.

  • As the first Moto GP game i've ever played, im truly impressed with what the franchise has to offer.

  • Better Moto GP players will do justice to in-game Rossi.
